Happy family smiling in front of snowy mountains and pine trees.

Who I Am

Sisu is a Finnish word that speaks to quiet courage, resilience, and the strength to keep going when the path is difficult.

Over the years, Sisu has become more than a word in my life. It has become part of how I live, lead, coach, and support others.

More than ten years ago, at what felt like the height of my career, I was in a serious motor vehicle accident that changed my life. Recovery meant learning to walk again, rebuilding my confidence, returning to work, and navigating the physical and emotional impact that came with it.

That experience changed me.

It deepened my empathy. It strengthened my belief in human resilience. It taught me that progress is not always linear, and that people often need support, structure, patience, and belief as they move through change.

That same belief shapes the way I work today.

Whether I am coaching someone through a career transition, facilitating a difficult conversation, supporting leaders, or helping an organization create a path forward, I bring both lived experience and professional discipline. I know what it means to feel uncertain, to rebuild, and to keep moving with purpose.

My understanding of people was also shaped early in life. I grew up in a family where lively conversations, debates, and different points of view were part of everyday life. The goal was not always to be right. It was to listen, understand, challenge ideas, and see the world through more than one lens.

That foundation taught me the value of curiosity, empathy, and honest conversation.

Today, I live north of Toronto in the countryside, surrounded by horses, dogs, cats, and the legacy of a home built with the hands and heart of my father and grandfather. It is a place that reminds me of what matters most: family, belonging, hard work, humour, and creating spaces where people can show up as themselves.

I am a wife to a proud Finlander, a mother of two incredible young adults, a coach, a facilitator, a learning strategist, and someone who believes deeply in the potential people carry — even when they cannot fully see it yet.

My work is rooted in that belief.

I help people and organizations move through complexity with courage, clarity, and care. I listen deeply, ask thoughtful questions, create space for honest insight, and help turn challenges into meaningful next steps.

For me, Sisu is not about pushing through at all costs.

It is about finding the strength to continue, the wisdom to ask for support, and the courage to build what comes next.
